About the SAU #2 Board
Role of the SAU Board
- RSA 194-C:5 – Each board of an SAU will meet between April 1 and June 1 to organize by choosing a chairperson, secretary and treasurer.
- The SAU Board shall determine the salaries of all SAU personnel and shall apportion the expense of the salaries and benefits among the districts.
- The SAU Board has the authority to hire, evaluate and remove the superintendent and other SAU administrators.
- The SAU Board, before January 1, will adopt a budget for the expenses of the SAU for the next fiscal year.
- There must be a public hearing on the SAU budget before final approval.
- The SAU Board currently uses a one person, one vote method. At any time, a Board Member may ask for a weighted vote (1 vote for each 16 students residing in the district; the balance of 8 or more students will entitle the district to one additional vote).
